About
Yvette started playing violin at the age of three and began singing even before that. Classically trained in the Bay Area, Yvette has since broadened her musical interests to a wide range of genres, including improvisation and world music. In 2006, she became a member of American Youth Symphony under the direction of Alexander Treger. This gave her the opportunity to play regularly at UCLA's Royce Hall. Also with AYS, she played in gala concerts at Dorothy Chandler Hall and Walt Disney Hall.
Other memorable performances include playing Arabic music with MESTO, a unique and diverse orchestra led by Maestro Azzam. She traveled with this group on their 2007 Egypt, 2010 Abu Dhabi, and 2012 Oman tours. In the popular music realm, Yvette is often seen on stage in Los Angeles accompanying upcoming singer-songwriters and bands. She is fluent in improvisation allowing her the ability to compose her own parts. Currently, Yvette is working on her first complete solo album of original songs produced by the composer and cellist Chris Votek.
